Ugh. Visited twice. First time, kids had fun at Sunday school back in Spring 2012. Went back recently (Fall 2012). Seems like a very different place. Kids still had fun in SS but everything seems to have changed. Different people running Sunday school, not so warm and fuzzy. In Spring, and after reading vision statement on their website, I had the impression that this church was money hungry but after recent sermon, it was confirmed for me. The pastor gave a sermon where he tried to shame people into giving more money. Pastor seems like he wants to build a huge church to compete with the big churches in the area. Newsflash! Not every body wants a big church! Nothing seems very real, bunch of plastic Christians led by a poser. Going to find a smaller church where people are friendly and real, warts and all.
If you are the kind of person who goes to church to be seen, and you don't mind sermons begging you to empty your pockets so the pastor can be glorified by building a big church, then go here. Otherwise, move on.

  • FUMC has two terrific pastors who provide relevant and meaningful message each week. They have a traditional and a contemporary service that includes time for small group discussions on the week's message. It's awesome! This is a wonderful church with a heart for mission work. They support a food pantry, work with homeless families who are involved with Interfaith hospitality group, have annual mission trips for adults and one for teenagers, have church wide service days working in the area to make a difference in the local community, provide weekly church service for a local retirement village, work with habitat for humanity, and that is just the some of the activities there are so many I can't include them all in this posting. The opportunities for children and teens to grow in their Christian walk is amazing. It's a great place for families to live their lives within a supportive church family. They also have specialize ministries for men, women's groups, and a singles study group. What ever you are looking for you can find it at FUMC.

  • We really enjoy attending Fishers United Methodist Church. We have met wonderful people and have enjoyed attending Truck or Treat, Vacation Bible School, the church wide Thanksgiving dinner and Upward Basketball.

It seems the church is always busy and there is something for everyone: bible studies, book clubs, plays, bell choir, youth group, confirmation classes - the list goes on.

It makes us proud that the church sponsors the Come to Me Food Pantry - so many families in Hamilton County are able to feed their families thanks to this pantry.

We also like that the church is always striving to better itself - to find out what it's congregation enjoys and doesn't enjoy - it's never stagnant.

All in all, we consider this our church, perhaps it's not for everyone, but it is for us.

Our office donated $500.00 in gift cards for Christmas to the food pantry and they were not even grateful enough to send a thank you note. Needless to say they never got any more.
